Hi, Shirley:

This is a truly a lovely photo.

Funny, it actually reminds me of a Shania Twain music video.

Very nicely done!

Cheers,
Glenn

this is a very beutiful composition as it controls your eyes movement from top to bottom of the picture.

I like this as well. I think it would be even stronger in black and white. The color in many ways distracts from the mostly black/dark and white of the subject, I think. Have you tried desaturating it just to see? Nonetheless a beautiful photo!

Thank you all...I really appreciate it. Elaine, I'm uploading a B&W version, what do you think?

What a great illustration of the difference between color and black and white. I am not sure which one I like better. Elaine is right that color can be distracting but I actually enjoy the way color adds a sense of lightness and whispiness to the image. Tough choice...

  Hi,

I tend to agree with Jim on this one. Although the B&W is nice, I find it washed out in certain areas and not having enough contrast in others. Perhaps, this may have been different had you shot this photo on B&W film using special filters.

Personally, I like the colour version the most.

Cheers,
Glenn

AWESOME SHOT!! I love it, I live both the color and black and white, but I think the color is the best with this shot. Wow, it's so great.

Great shot, no doubt (color or B&W, by the way, I like the B&W better), but I was just wondering what it would look like if the top of the arch was included…. perhaps it was too high, though.

Rock on,

Vasko

I think I like the black and white better - it seems more dramatic to me. But whatever you like best!

Thank you all for your comments and compliments. I do have many photos of Anna where the whole arch shows, just not in this one.

  Shirley,

I must say that I am stunned that this photo did not make it into the finalists.

However, you really do have a lovely photo here, and you should be very pleased. I would also encourage you to re-submit it into this month's contest as well.

All the best,
Glenn

Dear Glenn, you seem to be a fan of my work. I didn't know you could resubmit...perhaps I will.

Thank you.
