Excellent attention to background elements -- in this case, the "element" being mostly black. Compositionally sound, beautifully re-worked. I'm not always a fan of softened images, but this one stands out as magnificently rendered. I love many of your images, and I can readily see why they received so many BetterPhoto ribbons. I am quite surprised that this one didn't make that cut, but the judging is certainly tough because of all the submissions. Superb thought process, superb rendition, and superb exposure. A joy to view. Laurence.
