I'm relieved this was selected as a finalist because it justifies the amount of work involved in getting it! There were a lot of duds before getting this one... This was taken by strapping the camera against my husband's body, setting the exposure manually with emphasis on shutter speed to get the right amount of background blur whilst keeping my daughter sharp, setting the (estimated!) focus manually as I couldn't rely on autofocus, and setting the timer mode so the shot would be taken by the camera once my husband started swinging her around. Now whenever my daughter hears the "beep beep" of the self-timer she asks "want another twirly"! :)

Yes my one concern with this shot was she wasn't laughing during it. I can assure you she did enjoy it and was constantly clamoring to be swung around again!
