Absolutely stunning! This is truly amazing! Nice work. How did you ever keep it all perfectly still? How do you do this?

Thank you! If you only knew how many attempts it took me to get this one good one :)I have been experimenting with astrophotography for a while now, and by no means have it down...I am still struggling with polar aligning my telescope and getting decent focus through the camera. On this shot, I attached the camera to the telescope and then connected my camera to a laptop computer and took the pic via the 'remote capture' application that Canon offers. It's kind of like using a cable release on a standard SLR camera.

Erik, Looks like it has been a while since anyone has commented on this, but came across it while browsing the latest betterphoto.com on pictures of moons. I have a G5 and was wondering if there is an adapter that allows this camera (or your camera) to fit to a telescope. My pictures of the moon have zero detail to them and yours looks good. Or do you just set up your camera with a tripod to the level of the eyepiece of the telescope? Thanks, Ryan Glaze

Hi Ryan, Thank you - I had a lot of fun trying to get one or two good shots :) I have an adapter for the G2, and I beleive you can get one for the G5 as well for around $40 from www.ScopeTronix.com it just screws on and allows you to attach the camera to a telescope.
