Wilkerson Pass Remix
As the earth's shadow recedes, the sky is transformed from cool to warm. An earlier image rescanned and reinterpreted. The sky is lighter while more detail is preserved in the moon. I cloned out distracting points of light on the dark landscape. Tripod-mounted Nikon N65 with Nikkor ED 70-300mm lens. Two images stitched for the panorama. New 24-bit scans performed with Epson 4870 and imported into Photoshop.

WOW, Tom - this is just EXQUISITE!! I absolutely LOVE *everything* about this image, and I can see why the Judges here at BP loved it, too!! Sincere congrat's on your Second Place win with it in early 2006 - it was MOST deserved!! FABULOUS work on scanning your images and then stitching them to make this panorama, too!! We, too, have the 'Epson Perfection 4870 Photo' scanner and it's EXCELLENT!! :o)
