Gunther, this has to be the most unusual flower I have ever seen! (And I deliver flowers for my friends shop...) It really looks like feathers! Beautiful macro work, I think this has winner on it!

WOW! Thank you all so much for your kind well wishes and congrats. They are so very much appreciated! I love photographing flowers because I love gardening. Even though there are so many floral shots submitted at BetterPhoto, I try to see if I can somehow find something unique and different. It happened to be that I found this plant on a bikeride down the volcano Mt. Haleakala in Maui. Hardly a ride and more like coasting down for two hours. I happened by a garden with these incredible proteas. I guess they are unique to a certain climate that Maui Offers. Anyways, Thank You everyone! -Gunther
