A perfect shot, Bob - maybe I'll leave the birds to you ;) I will look forward to seeing this in the winners' circle. Happy New Year!

Thanks, Corinne, Linda, and Susan. These "tuff-guys" are pretty common in the east. Along with black-capped chickadees, they were the most frequent visitors to my feeders each winter. (There is a feeder just out of the frame to the right.) As I mentioned on my original post, a remote setup can solve two problems: - It allows for great close-ups without spooking the birds or having to use really long telephotos. The camera and tripod are positioned @ 10 feet away from the action. The lens had been pre-focused at a particular point on the "perch".
- It keeps you out of freezing temperatures in winter.
When I took this shot, I was sitting inside my warm kitchen sipping coffee and watching the action from a nearby window. The range of the radio-controlled remote device I use is around 300 feet ... as the crow flies. :)
