I like the different colors of these reeds. Something I've never seen before! Good find and nice shot!

Thank you Brinn, they were pretty, the white ones blew my mind on camera. But I added tint to the red and blue one. LOL. Thanks for taking the time. Cheryl

As a photo editor I think this is a waste of film. Before you press the
button,THINK do I want this shot as a record?THINK is any body going to buy
this.
THINK,would I hang this on my wall if
you say no to these,do not waste film.
Sorry to be a nasty one but I am giving
you the point of view from a editor,
where you hope to sell your photos.

Laughinggggggggggg well thanks a lot! 1. I don't have film it's digital so can shoot all day long. 2. I have seen a lot worse on walls LOL. 3. I kinda liked it, with that white reed and such. Not all photos can be scenes etc. In fact I like the unusual myself. 4. I am not really into it for the money as of yet, just a hobby. Thanks though! Cheryl

Well..Cheryl what a strange reaction from this Thomas fellow. I want you to know I do sell my photos as a living, and this one would sell in my booth. As they say, can't please everyone all the time...BMAC

Cheryl....you're right, I've had people look at my photos and ask "why didn't I add something" to it that wasn't even there when I took it. Like flowers in a shot of a window that had a window box, which, didn't even belong to me..lol.
Maybe we could make a good broom out of the reeds and give him a good thrashing, or, he could ride it out of town...lol. I know your work well..some people make me laugh more than others! Keep on shooting....BMAC

Brinn your totally refreshing. Yes I just hate that when someone says why don't you add something? DUH If it would of been there I would of shot it LOL. NO this didn't bother me at all don't any of you worry about it not at all. That shot was a long while ago, I move on lol. Like it or not, I love this with my heart and soul. I will sometimes put hours and hours into my work. My work is my art, it is a part of me. Not everyone likes me either laughinggggggggggg. But hey he was a help, selling photos? hummmmmmm lol.   Cheryl,
I am a newcomer to this site. But your Reed n Color is a great composition. I see your joy in the image. The negative attitude is an indication of boredom. All images will not appeal to everyone the same way, but criticism should always be constructive and never destructive. Keep on shooting the way you do, time and patiences will prove out in more profound imagery.

HI Lee thanks for the comment laughingg even though this pic is old I have never forgot the comment lol. When I took that photo I LOVED that white reed and how it showed up, and I did NOTHING to it lol. But many times now I find myself saying to mine and others winners, "WOULD SOMEONE BUY THIS?" lol. Thanks for the comment hon and good luck on your entries, Cheryl

This is old news by now, but I just found this site and I just want to say I would love to have this photo hanging on my wall. I love macro nature photography. I've seen a lot of photo books and photos in my time, and in my opinion I think this is a wonderful shot.

Cheryl, I missed all this COMBAT. You should have pointed out to Thomas that if he ever wants to be a writer he needs to improve his grammer :0) Talk about a waste of bandwidth. Whether you sell or not it's important to take pictures that make YOU happy. If it happens to make others happy then great. Your photo made me happy.

  Cheryl,
I know I said originally I'd buy this, and I still feel that way, but as Murry says, that really misses the point. What makes you happy is most important. If it makes me happy too, (which it does) that's a bonus. And that guy writes so poorly that I doubt that he's an editor of anything, certainly nothing I'd like to see.

It further occurs to me that since this was a finalist in the contest, he was probably jealous. :)

OH I agree 100% with you Conrad and Murry lol. If he was an editor he woulnd't have the time to run around mouthing every pic he didn't like lol. And nothing changes me as far as that goes you guys never worry lol. I shoot what I like. Still lol he did make me think and I sometimes find myself looking at yours and my photos and saying "Would anyone buy this?" lol Thanks Guys Cheryl
