Thank you all for the encouragement! I've been amazed at the quality of the photographs found on this site. To actually be chosen as a finalist is very exciting! I've been learning a lot by coming here, and have already noticed a positive change in my shooting. I'm hoping that one day it will help me to be able to do the things I've been visualizing.
