Forgot to mention, my goal in this shot was to only capture motion of the cue ball. I tried to capture the cue ball from point of impact with the cue stick until right before impacting with the 8-ball.

Thanks a lot everyone!! Wally, the shutter speed I was used for this one was 1/8 sec. The tricky part was that I was doing the shot solely by myself, shooting the cue ball thru the legs of a mini tripod that I machined specifically for this type of shot. Not only did I have to use the self timer and guess when the camera was going to fire, but I also had to judge how hard to hit the cue ball to get all the motion in the shot without contacting the 8-ball until after the completion of the exposure.
