Thanks for taking time to view the image, Kathryn, and for your inquiry. The painterly appearance is purely a function of the soft morning light on this day. It was shot with an 80-200mm lens.

Beautiful shot, Tony. It gives me a sense of tranquility and I can "hear" the silence. I love the way you used the lines of the grasses on shore and the lines of the pier with the reflections. The different lines and angles add to this image....and, of course, so do the geese - one of my favorite subjects!!
