When I lived in California for 30 years, they never had any decent sunsets, unless there was a fire or something. Hoping for better luck, but we'll be mostly going through the valley and the desert,(ugly part) so I'm not holding my breath!

Carolyn, People that arn't photographers DON'T SEE like we do. We are a breed apart from them. We see EVERYTHING in a different light. When you go to California this time you'll see a sunset there like you never imagined was possible. YOu didn't see like a photographer THEN and you probably wern't looking for the colors and lines and reflections and peeking sun behind and golden rimmed cloud or that rim of light on the sand that you have captured so well in the past. Look up! It's going to be a great sunset! Just pack the camera and don't shoot during lift off or landing! Try some other kind of shots too. Watch the people and shoot them for a chage of pace too!
