Ok, here's how it worked:
I started with a photo of two cranes fighting in the midst of a corn field surrounded by other cranes. I selected out just the two fighting cranes and put them on a green screen. The one on the right was missing his legs and belly because of other cranes that were in the way. I cut out the other crane's legs and used them to fix up the right-hand crane. Then I reduced the brightness and contrast to -100 and used levels to make the cranes black. I then used the overlay function to place the two cranes over the sunset photo.The photos of my steps are attached. Pam

Pam,I REALLY like your end result. I know you put lots of work into this photograph. I really like how it all blends together. Sure does not look like a "first" as it is very well done. I would be very proud of it!

I really appreciate your imput!The one posted here was not quite my first attempt at this look, I had to tweak it, but I've never done anything like this in Photoshop before... combining two totally different pictures to come up with something new. I've only done stuff where the instructions were all cut and dry, like a fake polaroid transfer. Glad you liked it! Pam
