Floral Dreams
Shot with an Olympus C-750 in manual priority with an aperture of F3.5, and a shutter speed of 1/250. The soft focus effect was created in Photoshop using a guassian blur and selectively erasing back to the original sharpness in some areas.

Excellent shot and presentation. I am particularly impressed with your work using the guassian blur. Everything about it looks natural and not "done".

Thank you Anne! Usually I find that if you use 3 layers and gaussian blur the second layer at about 20 and then lower the opacity of the top layer just a little that it doesn't give that "done" look. Sometimes it requires removal of the main subject on the gaussian blur layer though, but a lot depends on what mode you set the top layer to.
