I meant to post this scene earlier today, as an example of how the PSE 11 filter, "Correct Camera Distortion", can eliminate the "Leaning Tower of Pisa" look of a vertical subject such as the Cathedral's Spire.
But I held off for awhile, in order to catch up on e-mail. And I learned that, after 17 years, Laura Swan and her husband had to say good-bye today to their much-loved cat, Fangy.
By now, the little guy has crossed the Rainbow Bridge to that place where all animals are free of pain and illness... So this photo is dedicated to him, to Dale, and especially to Laura.
Please spread the word that Laura and Dale need your kind thoughts and prayers tonight, and in the coming days. Thank you.

What a lovely tribute to a much loved pet Mary! I love how the spire sparkles in gold hues and the rainbow is the purrfect touch for Fangy!

Thank you so much my dear Mare. This is such a beautiful image and dedication. I'll write you a private mail today. xoxo

Thank you all for your love and kindness. I will do a dedication for Fangy as soon as I can muster up some energy. I am exhausted from crying. So is Dale.

We both have tears again of appreciation reading this and seeing this Heavenly photo.

With love and gratefulness, Your little Pommy, and photo friend, Laura :)))

What a beauuuuutiful and appropriate dedication for someones that we both love very much, Mary.

How on earth did you manage sunset colors AND a rainbow at the same time? I am in awe of this magnificent image.

I've seen the scene before in your gallery but not quite like this!

Sentence to be continued...

Hello again, Kiki! And thanks again for all your comments tonight/this morning.

As you said, I've posted other photos of the Cathedral on that hot, humid, and yet magical August night in 2012.
In fact, I've just started a "timeline" of photos, from 6:15 or earlier, to 6:37 PM or so. Until I have a fully prepared lineup, I'll upload you an example of another such moment, not posted before.

P.S. That rainbow was part of the magic. I didn't even notice it while I was shooting dozens of shots of the wild storm colors around the Cathedral.
