Excellent exposure, Stephen, to catch the crystals of the snow like that and avoid blown highlights, while maintaining correct coloring etc on the leaves.

Must admit, though, that other than the great exposure, the image, for me, leaves a bit to be desired interest wise. :o]

I think this is a very cool, shot, Stephen. I love the simplicity and the uncluttered look of it. I lived in Colorado for many years and it brings back many memories of fall and winter coming together.

Great shot!

I agree with Dale on all accounts, perhaps a tighter crop would make a difference?

I also like this shot. It shows that the leaves of yellow and various shades of brown and in various stages of natural decay, continued falling after a snowfall. If I happened upon this scene, I would shoot it, too.

Technically superb! I find I agree though with Dale and Jeff. Perhaps a tighter crop will help.

I tried a few crops. None of them really brought out my intended anchor point. This was the best I found. So I might play with it some more but probably won't change it. I'm fairly happy with the overall composition and clarity.

I agree, Susan. Fall leaf clutter on fresh snow is a picture you just have to take a few of each year.

I forget who traveled through Yosemite and into the Eastern Sierra back country earlier this year, but this was taken along the trail at Virginia Lakes. The first sizable storm of the year had gone through about 3 days before.

One of the cool things about art in general is how different everyone responds to it! If it works for you Stephen, keep it! :) Great exposure and detail.

Uh oh. Do you have snow already???

I love this one-it works for me. Love the contrast of the leaves with the snow. Something on the leaves looks funny to me on my monitor-it almost looks over sharpened-a little pixilated, or is it that weird BP compression? Anyone else see it? It is just in the leaf patterns. If it is only on my end, ignore my comment.

I don't have much else to say, but I do like it!

It may be a bit oversharpened.
