Love the verticle lines and the old wood. I think a healthy dose of lighten shadows would bring out the maetal of the latch more.

Wow, I don't see how you could get better detail in that latch. So I'll be very interested to see that Mike's suggestion looks like. For me, the difficulty is in prceiving what I think is a right angled wall coming out from the door. I just don't seem to be seeing the 3-dimensionality correctly.
