Standing By
The city of Calgary has suffered severe flooding in many parts of our city. 100.000 people are without homes as the city works at a feverish pace to get these folks back in to their communities. I have not been able to contribute time to this effort as I have had to adhere to my work schedule. But when the time comes in the following month to rebuild gardens I will be there as it is the first summer in 35 years that I have had an entire month off...looking forward to doing my part...I am standing by with trowel in hand,

Kristin Duff

Beautiful Kristen I love the detail and feel the curve of the petal brings to this shot. your DOF is great, that you can still see the rest of the petal!

What a great opportunity for you Kristen. I am sorry to hear about all the flooding its never fun when nature try to show us she boss.

Kristen -- Gorgeous shot, colors wonderful and love the DOF. We, in Colorado, would appreciate some of your rain and I bet you would gladly give us some if you could. Our gardens and yards are really suffering from the drought. My crabapple tree thinks its fall and everyone who still has grass can't water but twice a week and it is obviously not enough. Makes us humble that we cannot control the weather. So sorry for your floods. My son in Chicago said that their outside parking lot is like there is a river flowing through it.

Stunning capture, Kristin. Hope to see this one again.. goes right into my faves.

My heart goes out to the people of Calgary and all areas effected by the devastating flooding in Alberta & BC & the world. What a bad year for flooding!!!

I'm glad you will be able to help out... they certainly need it.

My Mom was from Didsbury and we still have family and friends in different areas of AB. I loved in Calgary one summer myself and a lady from my co-op just moved to Calgary the week of the flooding.. see is okay.

Hope you have a Happy Canada Day weekend and stay safe, eh!!! Happy Shooting!

Kristin, this is a beautiful shot, I love the curves and it has a very abstract and artistic feel to it..
It is awesome you get that much time off, and I hope you will be able to help but also enjoy your time.

This is beautiful Kristin - it makes me think of an ocean wave! Great angle and color :) So sorry about all the flooding :( Our basement flooded a couple of years ago. That alone was a mess - can't imagine a real flood and the devastation is leaves behind.
