I've read that their feathers are not REALLY blue, but black...and that their physical composition reflects light in such a way that they APPEAR blue. Hmm. Great capture of him.

Very true Michelle, apparently if you held one of their feathers up to a light, so that the light shines through it instead of reflecting off of it it would be black. I know that whenever I've seen one in deep shade it looked black until it got to a spot where the sun reflected off of it.
