Frank Lloyd Wright, Midway Chair, 1914
Designed in 1914 for his Chicago Midway Gardens, located in the Hyde Park area, this simple red metal chair with blue upholstery is part of a larger series of related furniture and accessories that Wright designed specifically for Midway Gardens. Bulldozed into Lake Michigan in 1929 to be used as a breakwater, Midway Gardens fell victim to Prohibition. The chair and table set currently reside in a privately owned FLW Usonian style home.

Connie and Carol, thank you for your positive comments on "Connected". I think Frank Lloyd Wright had more to do with this photo than I! This was fun to shoot and research.

Thanks, Stephen. I'm a fan of FLW, so seeing his 1914 chair in person was great fun.
