Hi Wm...Thank you Wm...Looks like a chubbier version of some birds that made a nest in my decorative birdhouse last summer...same coloring, beak, tail,...I have not seen this one before the day I took the pic.
It was a cold day...and he/she politely waited for a turn on the feeder..
Anyone know???

Hello, Lydia! I do believe you've captured either a Carolina wren or a bewick's wren - 2 of my most favorite birds...it being a chubby little fellow with a shorter tail, I bet it's the Carolina! Sweet capture, beautiful tones!

I was going to guess it was a pigmy pheasant but lets go with Val's guess since there is no such thing as a pigmy pheasant! HeeHeehee...!

Cute little one for sure, Sis. :D

OMG, Pygmy pheasant...I love it...my laugh for the night...I checked it out in my bird book, and Val is right...Carolina Wren...but my bird book picture shows him a lot thinner! He looks like he had too much c*ke.
Thank you LSLS..:)

HeeHee...Well his feathers threw me off. The design. I thought...HEY! Those are pheasant feathers! I bet I would drive a real bird watcher CRAZY on an excursion?

"HEY! LOOK EVERYONE! GET YOUR CAMERA'S OUT! IT'S AN EAGLE!"

"No, Laura. That was a barn hawk, and you scared him away!!!"...

Rats. Well it's a sad day for us all. We must all buy day timers so we can line up our special events better.

UNLESS you think we might be able to see an Eagle and a Pygmy Pheasant near the railroads? Birds don't mind loud noises and train smoke right? I bet they even nest there? Hmmmmm....

You are very patient and kind to go with me bird watching, big Sis. You saw what I did to the rest of the bird watchers up there. I left them all frowning...but it really DID look like an eagle. How was I to know?

See? Almost identical.

Anyone could have made the same mistake.

I'd better bring c*ke and it better be good c*ke. We will need it to stay alert and sharp! :)

Hi Little Sis,
Ya, we could have gone to see No. 9 fire up and watch/shoot birds at the same time...darn...and those bird watchers did not know what a great bird lady you are! You are right, they are almost identical!

You sure know your birds, Sis Yes, we need daytimers..so we don't miss these grand opportunities.

We could also bring bird cakes?? I bought some for my feeder and the squirrels keep getting them..
Big Sis
