Thanks again Carol! Isn't he cute? Almost like a stuffed animal! LOL I have been four feet from a gator, but wouldn't try getting close to this fellow, no matter how cute he is. Anyway, I think this is his "I am bored with you now little photographer, go away" look.

How very nice of you Mark. I was lucky on this day. Animals, especially at our zoo are a huge challenge. Glass, fences everywhere, never a good spot.: )
But I will leave the animal shots to you! Have been enjoying them immensely. The tamarins as of late are very special with the lighting. You keep on rocking with the animal shots, PLEASE, because I can't! LOL I am a still life kinda gal. : )

Most of the zoos here in the UK have either glass, bars or fences to get in the way. I think that's half the fun of taking photos of animals at the zoo, tring to get a shot that could have been taken in the wild. I spend ages just looking for that perfect background.

As a child I hated seeing animals locked behind bars and always wished I could set them free. Zoos have come on a long way since then I'm glad to say and the animals welfare is paramount. There is also the case that most zoos now play a big part in making people aware of the plight they face in the wild and breed many endangered spieces for return to their natural habitat.
