To Infinity and..... Cosmos I was created earlier this year. This was the first time for Cosmos at Albuquerque. Owner Jerry Holmes. The balloon behind Cosmos is Oggy the Friendly Dragon. I guess he's been around awhile because Michelle Alton got a shot of him back East. It was a tender moment (LOL).....Oggy's owner is Jack Semler. This shot taken October 13th in the early morning shortly after the mass ascension.
Hi Bobby....it's a photographers candy store.....when the weather is working well and they can at least inflate it's a sight.....but when they can fly....OMG...it's amazing....I'm sure you'll make it one day....Have a great day today....
This is quite the show Tammy. Their field is one mile long. Go to http://www.balloonfiesta.com/event-info for information about the next one and this year's events photos from other photographers. I think weather may have something to do with this location....they have what's called the "Gully Winds" which creates a box for the balloons to go up from the field...rise to an certain elevation and winds switch direction to bring them back to the field. When this wind is working, they hold marksmenship contests like a ring toss and banner toss...quite amazing to see. Have a wonderful day......
You found some GREAT perspectives for shooting the immense balloons, Patricia. The dragon was never flown in the New Jersey show. He just remained tethered. Or maybe that was just on Press Day.
