Perfect sense Patrick and I commend you for getting back to the basics! Why we got into photography in the first place - not to win prizes - recognition is nice but it all comes down to how WE feel about our images. Thank you for being so incredibly honest.

BTW - very nice treatment on this photo. The colors pop, pov is great. Another one of your great photos for all to enjoy!

Thanks, Carol. You are right- I did get into photography becasue I loved it from the very beginning. Lately i,ve been stressing about :will this be good enough, will the judges like this, ect. If I get recognition- great!!! If not, I will stil enjoy the patricipation & fun. Feels good to let go! Thanks, my friend!

I think that's a great idea, Patrick! And, this is a beautiful with great lines and colors. I do hope you still keep the recent ones on top since I always love viewing your photos! You have to follow your own vision, especially if you have a distinctive one as you do.

By the way, have you tried one of the newer gallery formats? You can create a albums, such as one for your favorites, which means you don't have to constantly keep moving them to the top of your gallery. It's not as simple as it could be but might work for the way you want to arrange your work.

I think from time to time we all get the feeling that its not as much fun if we let the contest and what others think control what we enjoy. I understand what your doing and why and think you are doing the right thing. Keep it fun my friend.
Along with that we are going to get to see some pictures that are special to you. With your talent, we can bet that we will get to see some gorgeous works as you have done here. I love all the blue and then how the island stands out in its yellow. The tones are beautiful my friend.

I hear ya. Not all shots can be winners. I have many with no EP's on them but I like them and leave them in my gallery. You have some awesome work in your gallery and it's fun to go back and revisit some older posts. This shot is so colorful. I love the various shades of blue.
