This image is one from the archives. This year there seems to be very little baby bird life to photograph. I'm sure it has something to do with the earthquakes. As people have moved out of their damaged homes and all the damaged homes are in areas surrounded by water, it seems the bird life has moved on as well. Probably the free handouts aren't there anymore. Anyway, I did a good deed today. Driving home from a restaurant, saw mother duck with four ducklings trying to cross an extremely busy road with traffic going past at 80km's an hour. Of course I couldn't bear the thought of them getting killed, so stopped my car, stopped all the other cars coming in both directions and escorted mother and four baby ducklings across the road to the creek.

Lucky these sweeties had a brave Good Samaritan to lead them away from danger. Nice going, Ann --- both the good deed, and this capture of those pretty duckling colors.
