Fall Palette along Denali Highway
I won the Denali National Park drive through lottery (the opportunity to drive your personal vehicle all the way through the park). It always happens in the late fall when most of the colors have turned to brown but it still offers some of the most amazing, expansive scenery and animals. I took a photographer friend and we chose to take the Denali Highway to the park. The highway is approx. 140 miles of dirt road that offers scenery nearly as impressive as the park. It was raining with lots of low clouds and fog when we started but cleared up quite nicely by the time we got half way through. This shot is just a sample of the roadside scenery during the first half of the drive that shows the late fall colors. DSC-R1, f11.0, 1/125

Thank you for commenting, Jack. You're right about the low clouds. In fact much of the time the ground fog simply blends into the clouds so you really don't know what to call it.
