I like your composition on this, Pete. I like the concentration in the girl's faces. I've seen this same look with my daughter many times. I'm not in love with the blurring that you added, I think the image would be fine without it.

Now I know I can't win Jeff! I was positive that with the original depth of field folks would say "think it would have been better with the background out of focus". Ho hum!

this is a great shot Peter, I like the blurring of the background but the problem is you should have erased it off the girls hair, and the bows, the music stand and the girls back.

I understand what you are saying Rita although I think you will see on the unaltered version here that the blurring you are seeing is not an added blur but rather a plain old out of focus from the camera. Not that this makes it any better(!) as it just shows how I aim and shoot without much attention to detail and yeh, I'm not proud of that but in a crowded market place when a shot presents itself I just go for it. These were middle school kids and I was so impressed by their self-confidence and although I can't remember which piece they were playing, even as I type no, I can hear those strings. Many thanks Rita.

I like the comp and the concentration of the musician's faces too Pete...I think the blurring was a good idea and would be an improvement over the original if you cleaned it up a bit.

Rita and Tony, thanks friends. I would be very open to suggestions as to what you would change as long as you suggest how it might be done with my PSE9. Here is the OOC image from which I cropped the two girls. This was in response to Dale's "hands' theme but also cropped because the other two players were partly hidden.

Pete --= Don't you just love Farmer's Markets? So much to see and take interesting photos of. Great story-telling image for sure. I love the focused look on both girls and agree that the crop from the OOC was the right thing to do.

I really like the concentration on the faces of the girls. Did you do any sharpening on this one?

Thanks Debbie. Our Farmers Market is fairly small. It operates on saturday mornings May through October. I go there every week just to socialize with booth holders and customers and do way more talking than photography! It is a very friendly place, much more fun than Wallyworld and the large grocery stores. And thank you Beth. Don't remember what I did to the image apart from a few adjustments in raw before converting to tiff and jpg. Why do you ask about sharpening? What are you seeing?
