Icelandic Gothic
The Hallgrímskirkja church is a fantastic sight from the outside, and just as impressive inside, where a gothic style takes over, in an unusually spare,
unadorned way. Traditional rib vaulting takes on a modern feel and distinct look, with deep central cones formed by the smooth planes.
The church was begun in 1945, and completed in 1986; its sole tower dominates the city skyline.

Thank you all very much! I didn't work up the nerve to try my tripod in the church, so I was glad when one of the pews lined up almost dead-center under the arch, to give me something to brace against!
