LOL. That is to funny Mary. I hope its in the MT. I certainly got a laugh at how big them feet are. I can't recall seeing anything with feet that out of proportion before. Its like a freak of nature type of thing. Bet he don't fall over much.

Hello Mary!! He looks like our lotus birds with his big feet! They run across lily pads, but ours have red feet, not green like yours. What a most extraordinary type of bird! Great to see you got so close!

Regarding their feet, Jack (up above) mentioned walking on water plants, and you - Debbie - have seen exactly that. Mystery solved, Phil!
We have an enormous number of coots in the local park pond. They only get out of the water when there is food tossed on the ground. They move so quickly, it's rare to catch a shot of just one among the coot crowd milling around. This capture makes me feel so lucky!
