Kevin P. Kreischer     Nice capture Gord, doesn't look poisonous by the size of the head.

After I saw this I wouldn't see another thing off of the ground because that is where my eyes would be focused. Great capture, Gord!

I see these a lot, too. Don't know what kind, but I don't think they are venomous.

Water Snake non poisonous they are all over the country. If your ever in doubt just STAY AWAY BUT
if the head is more spade shaped (flairs toward its rear) stay FAR AWAY as it probably poisonous.
BUT GET A QUICK SHOT FIRST ;o)
Nice shooting

Jack

What a great wildlife capture Gord! I give all our Aussie snakes a wide berth, they are not known for their friendly attitude or good manners! Apart from that, we seem to have dibs on the most venomous variety in the world!

A great capture of this snake Gord. I am afraid of them, so I would not be this close. I do photogragh them at the zoo. They are behind glass.

Lots of good advice about snakes here, Gord! But scary or not, you managed to get a great capture of him! Very, very detailed and sharp with wonderful textures and tones. But I probably wouldn't like to be this close!
