Vintage Soy
Decatur IL has long been known as the "Soybean Capital of the World", as it's where the first soy processing plants in the world were located. Augustus E. Staley started his company in the early 1900's - and in fact it was here where the Chicago Bears were born (but as the Staley Bears). There is a Soy City Bank, Soy City Towing, Soy City Electric - and this Soy City Motel that has an sign with neon and running lights. This is a composite of two photos taken July 29, 2012.
