School Days of the Past
  School Days of the Past
School Days of the Past
Education can take place anywhere but these one room schools filled a basic need on the prairies.
This old school was built in 1914 in the Tuxedo School District Of Saskatchewan. Inside it has been vandalized but there are still remnants of the past to be found. Desks, chalkboards, photographs and even an old t.v. are still there.
The back side of the building has many windows overlooking the prairie. Some of the glass is still intact. As a retied teacher I can just imagine the good old school days and the many children that went through this one room school.

Beautiful textures on this well-composed image, Heather! Probably wouldn't have been much fun to get there in the cold of the winter and have to stoke up the wood stove, though!

You are a master at this kind of artistry and this one went to my favorites. I so love the oil painted look with the textures. Composed so beautifully, these kind of finds are always a special treat. You really captured the feel of the time this school house was in use. What gorgeous work you do my friend.

Very nice Heather. Love the stormy tones and textures. The bio is very interesting and I am surprised so much of the building is still intact.
