It's definitely easier to walk on the rocks than in the water...with constant fear of "oops, I slipped." :-) Another beautiful view of this iconic river, Tammy. Nicely done!

I'm sort of used to that sort of terrain. That's what we have instead of a beach. Lots of rocks that want to twist under your feet. I've found that if I wear lace up shoes very loosely laced, the shoe can turn without taking your foot (and the rest of you) with it.
It works pretty well.

Thanks Gord, Ken, Michelle, Carolyn and Bobby. Carolyn you can rent shoes special made for this type of terrain in Springdale at Zionadventures. The socks are made out of wetsuit material and keeps your feet warm. The shoes are high and help you from slipping. Highly recommended for this hike by me. $21.00 a pair. Zionadventures.com.

Thanks Shirley, Agnes, Stefania, Mary, Ellen and Chris. Yes, Ellen we started our hike into the narrows at 6am. When we came out about 2pm it had gotten crowded and the lighting was to harsh for photos by then.

Sounds like a FUN FILLED VACATION and this shots a beauty. Nice going I'd be a bit more than just worried about slipping as out of the way as this obviously is.
Then again my SERIOUS HIKING DAYS are LONG OVER. :o) Even a few Magic Pain Pills could not get me through this.
Looking forward to MORE........

I bet those high walls of rock made you feel so small in physical size. That would be so awesome to walk along the river, looking up at them. The earth colors are so gorgeous and you certainly let us see the beauty of this place. So pretty my friend.
