Comboyne Skyline #2 (b&w)
With a drift of cottonwool clouds across the sky, a great treeline and those rolling pastures, this dairy country landscape is looking good this winter.

Photographed from the road between the high country township of Comboyne and Boorganna National Park, NSW, Australia.

Canon EOS 40D with Canon 28-135mm IS USM lens: RAW, f/16 @ 1/640sec, 75mm, ISO 400.

Lightroom4 & PhotoshopCS3.

I love this scene, Dennis, and would like to see the color version, too. The detail of the trees on the highest hill is amazing. Very interesting POV with the zigzag coupled with soft rolling hills. I grew up in America's Dairyland (Wisconsin and twin city Menominee, Michigan), so this really grabs my senses. Beautiful work, and you're showing us the full range of your amazing talent.

To me it looks like the cavalry coming over the ridge. Beautiful, Dennis.

  Dennis,

Lovely landscape scene. Great details. Nice composition.
Fantastic to see you up and about in the hillsides. For a time I thought Australia was just the cream the beach and off their minds Aussies in extreme sports
(Ha, Ha)

Gorgeous, as usual, Dennis! Incredible tones, texture and crispness. Seems like my photos are never quite this sharp and I'm not sure why. Nice landscape!

  Merry be WENDY!

Lovely to see you up in Comboyne country taking in the scenery.

My utmost thanks for your very inspiring feedback for this country view.

Try using what I call the "Poor Man's Hyperfocal Distance" when focussing. Instead of working out the mathematical formula for the HD, simply focus on a spot 1/3 into the scene you wish to photograph. NOT necessarily what you see in the viewfinder but 1/3 into the scene you wish to use, ie: you may wish to crop it to a panorama so your focal point would be 1/3 into the scene from where you want he bottom edge of frame to be. (Works for me!) 8-)

A very beautiful landscape capture. I enjoy how the landscape moves left, then right and is further emphasized by the trees. Your processing is just lovely.
