Thanks Lydia! Different climates eh? Our gardner just chops them back to about a foot high for winter, and the bloom out of control in spring and summer!

Hmmm...mine have always died...Maybe I will try cutting back in a sheltered spot...I love the ones with the red leaves..and the green leaves with the bright red flowers (President).

I really think our mild climate has a lot to do with it Lydia! It is mid winter here and we still have a few roses blooming at the moment!

Wow, no hard cold there? The bulbs are not to expensive to buy, $6 for three, or you can buy one in a pot already started for about $7. I may still try it..

Around where I live the coldest it ever gets is about 30ºF, Lydia! That is too cold for me though!

and around here, New Hampshire, it can get PRETTY COLD. Although, the past two years have not been too bad...good on the oil bill!
