  Found them in Wal Mart parking lot where they had flowers displayed. I have no idea what they are, but thought they were pretty cool.

  They are celosia, Carolyn! Cockscombs are different, because they have a "solid body" to them, quite different to the wispy celosia, but the same family. Lovely bright colours, we grow them here commonly - I guess they like the warmer climates.
