thank you for your kind words, lua! the flower stands out from the hands because it's in sharp focus, while the hands are soft and blurry because I shot this image using a very shallow depth of field. selective focus, acheived with shallow dof, is my favorite way of creating seperation between my subject and the rest of an image.
