Rita, I'm envious of the cool birds you get to see. Around here right now, about all we see is crows. Another month and the Bald Eagles will be back, though.

You have gotten pretty darn good at the bird shots Rita. Maybe the National Audubon Society needs a photographer!

I don't see much I would change on either one..maybe some selective sharpening on the eye in "snow fall"..

"Oh So Pretty" -- This is such a great portrait, I'm going to be a little nit-picky here. I think this is worth the trouble.

1) see if you can enhance the catchlight just a little.

2) those three twigs dropping straight down from the top, particularly the one right down into his head, could be removed.

3) as with all my shots, it just feels a little soft, particularly along the beak. Would you want to sharpen it any?

I'll be interested to hear if there any any tonal edit suggestions from the other Phello's.

I prefer the other, though, just for content and story line. For contest submission, I would expect the other to do better since it is more unique. It also might do great with a monochrome or pencil sketch treatment.

I just love 'Snow Fall'! The light is so pretty and it's cute how the bird is all puffed up. 'O So Pretty' is wonderful as well and I agree with Stephens suggestions. Anything you can do to make the head pop more would be nice as I feel it doesn't get as much attention as the rest of the body due to lighting and sharpness. :~)

Nothing that Stephen has not covered, to add here Rita, . Lovely work on both pix. Winners for sure. Having pretty birds around is one thing I do miss in good old So. Cal.

Oh, for some pretty birds to photograph. Maybe someday. You have really gotten good at your wonderful bird images. It does help to have colorful birds at your beck and call. I especially like Snow Fall and agree with Stephen about the twigs. Perfect!

I remember you are amazing shooting thru glass, was this one taken from inside?

I would like to see Stephens suggestions.

I really like how you got the snow fall, and she is all puffed up. Great shot.
