Desolation

---
Sometimes, the path ahead is desolate, even at the dawning of a New Year.

That's about how it looks here, too. Dead.

MELODIE C. ROBERTS
  Desolete???

I see trees at rest preparing for their spring bloom
I see ground cover protecting roots and seeds until the suns warmth returns

I see a path that brought us to where we are and guiding us to our possibilties!!

I like the white edging of the path, that makes your eye follow it all the way to the end. The rest of the image looks cold!

WOW, what a beautiful serene place to take a walk, and discover the true meanings within life! The sounds of the forest must have been astounding as you strolled along? Even hearing the crunch under your feet are sounds that the wild of nature take heed. They 'knew' a friend was nearing them. Never be fooled by a 'desolate place', as creatures are watching, and many wild plants await! Awesome image and capture! 8o)

Beautiful capture. I love the bright white line separating the path from the more dynamic trees area.

The swamp roses were growing in abundance on June 20. These were blooming right above the bench seen in today's post.

Last June, I shot this scene while STANDING ON the bench you see in today's post. I felt gloomy this morning--better now.

The woods on June 20, 2011 were bursting with these swamp roses: "Rosa Palustris"
