 Snow Bird Looking West
Took this today at 11,500 feet from the top of a mountain peak at Snow Bird Lodge, east of Salt Lake City, looking west (that's the city in the background near the horizon). I took the tram up there not long after a rain storm blew through, which added nice interest to the sky.Canon 16-35mm/2.8 lens, set at f/8, ISO 160. Three handheld images taken with auto-bracket... shuter speeds came in at 1/640, 1/200, 1/60. Merged later in Photomatix, finished in Photoshop CS5.

Very nice. I can almost smell the mountain air. I really like the feeling of distance.

Ann, thanks, glad you got some memories back!Ruth, it was amazing to stand at the top of an 11,000 ft mountain. Pictures don't really capture the grandness of it all. Crazy!
