Prior to using the filters, this was still interesting with the regular sunset behind it. I thought I would include that for comparison.

Terrific compilation and presentation, Kenton. I love what you've done here. The sun does seem a little grainier than the rest of the imagry. I might have tried a little blur effect on that portion to eliminate some of that. However, this is a still just a wonderful image with which you did a magnificent job. Very well done, my dear friend - your good friend, Allan

Thank you, Carolyn. I love the sunsets too, and this particular one was just as bright as it appears in that image.
Thanks again for the comments.

I like them both - very cool result with some wonderful PS work in the first - and a wonderful comp and capture of a gorgeous sunset in the original! I lean toward the original sunset though - I think you ought to enter it too - stunning color! -K

Hi Kactus Ken,The selected subject matter for this project is excellent.
I find the old west and it's relics very facinating.
I like the way you have specifically chosen to give the final image a rustic look and the final image says a lot about the old west.
I think that it's perfect.

Thank you Bonnie, Donna, Terry, Donna Rae, and Lori. I will definitely enter the version before the filters. That is also a composite. I appreciate what you mentioned also, Terry, as that was virtually the exact effect I was trying to accomplish - a chalky appearance!
Thanks again everyone for your comments.

I think both shots are great Kenton ~ if I had to choose I'd pick the original sunset as it seems to bring the 'old West' alive ~ great job on both of them though!
