Chicago, Really?

|
Chicago, Really? I've been fascinated by the tilt-shift lenses that can make only a part of an image in focus, and make it look toy-like. SO, I dug into Photoshop to try and reproduce the effect. This shot, taken up in the Hancock Tower in Chicago, seemed to be a good specimen to experiment on.Canon 17-40mm, handheld.

Thanks! Already I'm seeing things I would do different, but that's OK, I'll keep experimenting. This one was fun!

Thanks Ruth! I'm just wondering if the current control wall in the water in the upper left is distracting. It was THERE but I couldn't frame around it. I suppose I could have removed it in this particular image since it's a blatant digital edit, lol!

I didn't notice it because my eye was drawn to the center as intended. It might be better without it, but you would have to change the water color too. I don't know.

Thanks UB! I was a bit surprised it even got picked. Now I wish I spent a little more time doing the effect. Us photogs are never satisfied... ;-D

you could even say it adds balance and keeps the image from being too weghted to the lower right. :-D
