Wonderful light and colors and terrific composition. I was curious about the lake, too. A Google search turned up lots of interesting information, including the fact that it's in the south of the Russian region of Siberia and it's the world's oldest and deepest lake. Congratulation on the very well deserved POTD and thank you for this beautiful capture that opened the world to me just a bit more, Alexander.

Alexander, this is such a well deserved recognition for a BREATH TAKING image! What strikes me is the beautfiul contrast between the cold hues of the blue water and sky and the warm glow of those rocks. CONGRATS to you!

This is awesome, Alexander! Gorgeous light and beautiful golden color of the rock juxtaposed with the clear, blue (and cold I bet) smooth waters of the lake. Love the different textures, too. Striking composition with wonderful clarity. Congratulations on a very well-deserved POTD!
