I couldn't believe my eyes when I found a whole tree in our development with partially decomposed leaves in the most wonderful patterns. I picked one to photograph quickly since we were going away at the time. Placed it on a black background, took it outside on my deck and photographed it in open shade.

This is indeed beautiful, Fran, and a most wondrous find. What great definition between the still green and the turning parts of the leaf. Well seen and captured.

Frances Saunders 		  Thank you so much. It's good to know that others see the wonder, too. When I get back to this location, I hope there will still be other leaves to choose from. They were almost all differently shaped, but beautiful in the same color coordinated way. Would make a nice triptych or somesuch. : )
