Spring Melt Buachaille
Buachaille Etive Mor, Glencoe, Scotland.Spring melt dribbles into the rivers and forms tiny cascades as they drain into Rannoch moor. This view gives a slightly distorted perspective of the mighty Buachaille and despite the lovely sunshine and laser blue skies it isn't my favourite time of day to shoot a scene such as this but the big plus is that the sun is high enough to penetrate the deep hole in front of the little cascade and that gives rise to detail below the water surface. A case of making the best of the conditions I had. Pentax 67II 45mm lens, polariser backed off to reveal detail in water but not to partially polarise the sky, 0.6ND grad, to waters edge below falls, 0.9ND filter to slow shutter speed to 1/2 second. Pentax 67II, f/16 at 1/2 second, Velvia.

Huge congratulations on this wonderful landscape, Ian. I would give a winner in this case as your descriptions of the work in detail of sharing with the members. Even without it, I still think this photo is too excellent not to be a winner. I can't see any flaws in it except the right corner is slightly vignetting but still fine with me. Good luck Ian next round!
