I'm not good at shooting people, so this was a little uncomfortable, but we were having so much fun during the trip that it was easier to take some chances. I was trying not to be intrusive and got very lucky that the children were so happy and interested in looking at us too. Thank you all for your kind comments.

This appeals to me because so many images of Amish families are gentle or somber in tone. The laughter and fun portrayed in your picture is probably as much a reality as the other emotions. Good Luck moving beyond the Finalist.

There's not much I can add to all those comments above, but as I was looking through your gallery this image just struck me. The technical aspects are perfect..comp, lighting, etc., but the feeling of the image is what grabbed me, and made me long for the days when my children were younger and we spent happy days together. A wonderful capture of a simple, satisfying life, Karen! Congratulations!

How cute! Love it!! I use to love to go to Lancaster PA. I lived in Carlisle. I tried many times to get a picture but was afraid as I heard they didn't like it. Nice work!
