Largest and brightest moon for 2010. A Canon 300 f/4 IS at 1/30th sec. @ f/16. Shot on 1.30.2010 at 3:45 AM. Tripod, cable release, Canon 1.4+2.0 TC were added!

    I tried this last night myself, but did not get this great a result. I can't believe all the detail that is visible... great job!

Thanks, Maria! Also, had a "stacked" Canon 1.4 + 2.0 extender on my Camera. This moon was hot @ 5:00am today! I have one shot same night but at 10:30PM. They look very different.

i have tried several times to get this detail in the moon and have never been able to...way to go..!!!
someday I hope to take my own shot like it :)

Thank you, Pamela! I just looked up Photoflash newsletter and there it was! I just got back from Florida, but I can detail my procedure for "shooting" the moon! If you like...

Sure I would love to hear it...I definately would love to try again. The biggest lens I have now is 70-300mm tamron lens. I have never used extenders and don't even know how that works?
