I love the effect you've given this image. It fits the subject perfectly. I visited this area for the first time in October. A great spot and you've captured this landmark well!

Ooo! This is REALLY neat! I love the visual effects here, Carol! It reminds me of those 3D camera's from the 80's and 90's.

HEY! Are you thinking what I'm thinking??? This would be a great black light poster! HA! Just what you need!

-Laura

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU!

Thank all of you so much for your kind and supportive comments! I truly appreciate all of you!

Judith, isn't it such a wonderful place? For about 2 years, I lived about 45 minutes from Sevierville so Justin and I visited the Smokies quite often. At that time, I didn't have much of a camera, so I didn't take photos like I would now if I lived there! How far did you have to travel to visit there?

Jayne, the opening with the little gate is a doorway and a bit later they opened it and allowed us to go inside where they started making the cornmeal. There is a window inside so you can look out. And I love the cornmeal there! Yummy!

Haha Laura! It might just work as a poster at that! I saw on your poster photo that someone asked what you had in your 70's room...I bet you have a lava lamp too! If you do, I wonder if you could take some closeups of that and get a very unique photo?

Dick, do you live nearby or just go on vacation frequently? My parents (especially my dad) loves the Smokies and Cades Cove too. When I was growing up, all our vacations but one were in the Smokies. When I was 9, we finally talked dad into taking us to FL for a vacation. After that it was back to the Smokies from then on.

I never had a lava lamp. It's a shock that I never did because they were so cool! Just in the past year I finally decided to get rid of some clothes nd gave away 3 hefty bags full of 70's and 80's stuff. (Whaaaaaa!) Some of it was worth a lot, too! Britania Jeans etc! I kept a pair of gaucho's however and a few other things. :)

My 70's room is mainly my MAPLE furniture and matching lamp (with the huge frilly lamp shade), and many of my belongings from childhood. I'll try and show you guys more stuff in a creative way.

I bet if we ALL added something 70's to the thread it would be one CLASSIC thread.

Maybe we should throw a 70's party on a new thread??? HA!

What do you think?

I think that would be such fun Laura! I don't think I have anything left over from that era...well, I do have one thing I saw when I was moving and I know how I can capture it. I will just have to find it again though. It was in a box and I pulled it out and showed it to Justin but I don't remember what I did with it. Maybe left it in the box but I will still have to find which box. I will look around tomorrow though and see if I can find it and take a photo of it and maybe you can start a 70's thread. Groovy!
