When our neighbor visited with her daughter, I just had to grab my camera.

Thanks to the suggestions and advice from a great BP member, this is a revision of an earlier entry.

F 4.5, 80 mm focal length, 1/60 sec, hand-held, available light.

Beautiful tones, softness and expression, Michael. What a lovely child. Good luck with this version.

New month, new entry. I think it's time to put this in again, Michael :) Do NOT be persuaded by the absence of an EP that this is not worthy!

Thanks for your comments, Jo Ann.

I must admit that I was hoping for an Editor's Pick on this, mainly for the sake of the mother of this little girl. But, I still like the shot, and I guess that's what counts.

This teaches us a lesson that we shouldn't take those EP's too seriously. This was the image that really stood out when I took a quick glance at your gallery. Wonderful tones, love the expression in her eyes! Keep re-submitting!

A truly lovely candid portrait here, Michael. The expression, the framing, and your treatment combine into an extremely appealing whole.

Once again... proof that the editors don't always get it right. This is totally engaging! I agree with Eivor. :)

Thanks so much Patricia. I have liked this shot ever since I took it. It's been said in the past that photos should be taken and enjoyed, not so much for others, but for ourselves. I Guess there's some truth to that. While I do look forward to someday maybe having at least a "finalist" shot, I still am pleased with my work and enjoy it, and in the end, I guess that counts the most.

Thanks again for the encouragement!!!
