Thx again António- I rented an expensive 55-foot boat on St. John to capture images with these models on a cover shoot (with a stylist, assistants, my client, a sick model, etc)- it was stormy at times and the boat (a racing boat) was fast, but I captured a mix of quality images- again, dealing with adversity is part of the artistic process.

Happy 2010 to you too!

Well, Sean, life is certainly tough when you have to be in such awful places for work. I'll be thinking about you when I'm sailing in the BVI in May. Will, of course, take pictures. But no models, etc. - just us sailor-types. Recently shot a regatta - I was on one of the official committee boats - so know that shooting while rocking, especially when you're trying to catch racing boats in action, is not easy.

I would agree St John is gorgeous, but trust me, lugging 6 heavy bags across the nation post 9/11, the huge undertaking of organizing a big shoot, and dealing with many variables, a sick model, rain and sun, sweltering heat, and yes, rocking boats, waves and wind makes for no vacation that's for sure!

I'd love to visit the USVI and BVI went I could just shoot for fun- now that's a vacation! :)

Yes, I know it's hard work. But I'm just jealous: you get to go to great places and someone is paying you to take pictures.

This is true- I can't argue that. :)
